This course is for people who do not speak English as a first language to help you improve your English and be successfully accepted to a mainВ course at the University of Sunderland. By the end of the course we expect you to have a level of English that is the University of Sunderland equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0. The typical contact time for this course is 335 hours over 12 weeks. There will also be lots of opportunities for you to practice your speaking with online chatrooms and group projects throughout the duration of the course and you will keep in regular contact with your teacher through a weekly tutorial slot. There is also a large bank of extracurricular material that you can use to help you during your independent study time. Much of the work you will be required to do will be available to you outside of the classroom which you will receive regular feedback on. You will participate in live virtual classrooms so that you can practice your English with the help from both your teacher and your classmates. This online pre-sessional course uses a variety of teaching methods using our Virtual Learning Environment, Canvas. EAP courses will be delivered online in 2021.
